about ASH

On a wedding day, I’m equal parts steady hand and quick wit - calm when it counts, and never afraid to spark a laugh. I make fast friends with anyone, from your flower girl to your grandfather, and can read a room in an instant.

Years of experience mean I know when to fade into the background and when to bring just the right energy - It’s how I keep you comfortable in front of the camera and completely present in the moment.

I photograph weddings with intention, style, and an eye for the in-between; the precision of an editorial shoot, and the intuition of a documentarian, woven together in every frame.

My background in brand + editorial shapes how I see light, movement, and composition, refined through years of working with medium format film. It’s a slower, more deliberate way of creating - where every frame is considered, every choice intentional - resulting in imagery that feels distinct and enduring.

And weddings aren’t just about aesthetics - they’re a collision of all the people you love in one place, for one fleeting day. I’m there for the refined portraits you’ll want framed, but also for the messy, blink-and-you-miss-it moments. I want you to look back and feel the energy, the warmth, the personality - to not just remember how it looked, but how it felt.

HOW I SEE IT

Equal parts director and quiet observer. I know when to shape a moment and when to simply let it unfold.

03. INTUITIVE DIRECTION

A fashion-trained eye for images that feel elevated yet unforced. Every frame is composed with intention, but never at the expense of authenticity.

02. EDITORIAL EDGE

Hybrid film + digital for depth, tone, and timeless texture. Film brings a richness and intention to every frame -
it’s not a trend, it’s the craft.

Can you explain your film approach?

My main body of work is a split of medium format film and digital, with some 35mm and Polaroid mixed in as well. I reach for whichever best serves the light, mood, and moment - it’s an instinct that comes from years of shooting and knowing how each format will translate what I’m seeing. Film brings a depth, texture, and timeless quality that can’t be replicated, while digital offers speed and flexibility. Together, they create a body of work that feels intentional, elevated, and true to the day.

What's it like to work with you?

I move through a wedding day with intention - guiding when needed, and disappearing when the moment needs space. I notice the way fabric moves, how light falls across a room, and the smallest details that bring the story together. I connect easily with people, which means your guests feel at ease and your portraits feel natural. My goal is for you to be fully present, trusting that I’m catching both the beauty and the energy as it unfolds.

Do you travel?

100% - I photograph weddings and work all over the world. I split my time between NYC and Austin - mainly working along the East Coast, in California, and in destinations abroad. Travel is second nature to me - I know how to plan, when to arrive, and how to avoid hiccups (and jet lag) so I can show up fully present and ready to capture your day. I will handle all travel on my end so the process is completely effortless on yours.

What will our photo delivery look like?

Your full gallery will be delivered in a private, beautifully organized online gallery - easy to share, download, and order prints from. I edit digital images to compliment the tones and depth of film, and every frame is reviewed with a detailed eye. That means retouching for color, exposure, and composition, along with removing small distractions (like plugs, clutter, blemishes) so the focus stays exactly where it should be

Full wedding galleries are delivered in 8-12 weeks, and other sessions in 3-4 weeks.

Posed, or candid?

Both - the magic is in the balance. I’ll guide you into natural, flattering light and give direction that feels comfortable, never stiff. From there, I step back to let real moments unfold, capturing the candid in-betweens that make your photos feel effortless and true to the day.

What are you most excited to photograph on the wedding day?

The in-betweens are everything - Loewe heels abandoned by the edge of the dance floor, a single tear streaming down your cheeks during your vows, grandma and grandpa on the dance floor, belly laughs during speeches, the bright sun casting your lace veil’s shadow across your dress. It’s those quick flashes of beauty, style, and emotion, the kind you can’t stage, that I’m always chasing.

The TL;DR on the booking process:

Most couples book about a year out, but I always say - reach out as soon as you find me. You never know, your date might still be open!

Every couple gets a custom proposal tailored to their day, all-inclusive of travel and anything else your celebration calls for. From there, we’ll hop on a call to dream through your plans, answer all your questions, and make sure we’re a perfect fit before we make it official!

Every frame is a mix of the intentional and the unexpected -
a balance of editorial vision and unposed honesty
